Obituary Thomas F. Tringali

TomTringali (1)

After years of living with complication of multiple sclerosis, Thomas F. Tringali, of Housatonic, died peacefully at Fairview Hospital on March 15, with his wife, Margaret Magdalenski Tringali, at his side. Tom will be remembered for his love of family and friends. Retiring to Housatonic five years ago from Rye Brook, NY, he came to enjoy riding his wheelchair to the post office, and around the neighborhood. Tom is survived by his wife, Margaret, sister Rosemarie Latella and companion Helene Schiavello, and sister Pamela Tringali and husband Bruce Cummings, brother Peter Tringali, sister-in-law Sandra Pozzetta, in-laws Larry and Susan Magdalenski, beloved nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

There will be no memorial service at this time.  In lieu of a memorial donation in Tom’s honor, please be kind and considerate to those in wheelchairs, or using a cane or walker — hold a door, offer a hand. Condolences may be made through birchesroyfuneralservices.com.

  4. Tom Tringali was known to his friends as Trinky, The Trink, and The Prez.

Originally from Yonkers he grew up in Port Chester, NY where he spent most of his life until he retired. I’m not sure where he graduated High School but he attended the University of Bridgeport and ultimately graduated from Pace University with a BS.

He was a gentle soul, a friend to all, and my best friend for over 50 years. He will be remembered by all who knew him but for me he will always be in my heart. I loved this man.

He had a tough life physically but he lived it with dignity and never, ever complained even as his body slowly deteriorated over the years.

In his younger days he enjoyed boating on Long Island Sound and the Spring ritual of working with his Dad getting their wooden skiff ready for the water.

Latter on he became one of the core players in the Octoroon Poker Club starting
with the second game in Yonkers in 1976. Some time latter he was elected unanimously by his fellow Octoroons to be “President for Life”. He enjoyed Thursday nights among his friends and never missed a game hosting many at his home in Rye Brook for over 25 years.

I have created a Dropbox Folder where I placed all the pictures I have of Trinky. You can view them at:

God Speed Trinky, I’ll see you on the other side…………..

  5. Tommy you are so missed. Thank you big brother for always being there for me. I could always count on you for needed advice and help throughout my life. Thank you to Maggie who gave her all to you. I will carry you in my heart and soul. Love you forever Pamela

  6. Margaret,

I am saddened to learn of Tom’s death. That is a lovely message in lieu of memorial donations.

I send a big hug to you,
