Obituary of Sally Doran Miner


Sally Doran Miner, 92 of Stockbridge died peacefully at home on Sunday June 24, 2018. She was born in Bristol NH on April 20, 1926 daughter of Wilbur K. and Myla B. (Cavis) Doran. After graduating high school Sally went on to get a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Hampshire, class of 1947. Sally worked for twenty years as a bookkeeper and accountant for Country Curtains. Sally was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Stockbridge where she taught Sunday school and she enjoyed reading, gardening and walking her dogs. Sally’s husband Dr. Paul W. Miner whom she married in Bristol NH on February 6, 1947 predeceased her on February 17, 2007. Sally is survived by two sons, Eric P. Miner of Stockbridge and Bruce A. Miner of Becket, two daughters, Jan K. Miner and husband Will Hayes of Becket and Dede Miner Rathbun and Marc of Stockbridge, one brother, Robert Doran and wife Marie of VT and four grandchildren, Sean Elliott, Wesley Buckley, Austin Miner and Julia Miner. In addition to her husband Dr. Paul W. Miner Sally was predeceased by her sister Patricia Lowell.

A Celebration of Life for Sally Doran Miner and Dr. Paul W. Miner will be held on Saturday July 7 at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church of Stockbridge. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Sally’s memory may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South St. Great Barrington MA 01230.     It is hard to express in words the gratitude if feel for your loving and deeply spiritual parents, Paul and Sally. Having through Jan, had the opportunity to have been welcomed and educated by them has had a long lasting and uplifting spiritual effect on my life. As I entered this community, your family ushered me into an awareness of the harmonious unseen that ties us each to one another. Sorely I will miss them, long will the love of your family rest in my heart. Blessings on all my Miner friends in this their time of grieving, Blessings.
