Monterey has lost one of its finest citizens, a man who served the town with dedication, skill and hard word for many decades. I’ve liked and respected him for over 50 years, and most respectfully join his extended family in mourning his passing.

New Marlborough Fire & Rescue extends its condolences to the family of retired Monterey Fire Chief Ray Tryon and members of the Monterey Fire Company. Chief Tryon was a steadfast advocate for the fire service and a mentor to many. He will be greatly missed but his influence will live on.
