Obituary of Peter Francis Troiano

Peter Francis Troiano, 88 of Housatonic died Thursday June 6, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Peter was born in Lee on June 20, 1935 son of Alfonso and Maria (Vitale) Troiano. He was a graduate of Lee High School. Peter worked as a carpenter at Kimberly Clarke for over thirty- eight years, and then with his sons Michael and Andy, started Troiano & Sons Builders, Inc.  Peter was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church/ Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish. He coached Little League Baseball, Biddy League Basketball and Youth Football for over 25 years. Most of all, Peter loved spending time with his family. Peter’s wife Carolyn (Love) Troiano whom he married on April 6, 1957 predeceased him on November 26, 2015. Peter is survived by five sons, Michael and wife Cindi, Andy and his wife Holly, Peter and his wife Jackie, David and his wife Elina and Jamie and his wife Tracy, two daughters, Suzanne Troiano Forbes and her husband Brad and Theresa Troiano Sonsini and her husband Joe, one sister, Mary Castellini of Lee, twenty- seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Peter was predeceased by grandson, Eric Sonsini, three brothers, Ugo, Joe and John and five sisters, Lola, Yolanda, Helen, Susie and Fannie.

Funeral Mass for Peter Francis Troiano will be held on Thursday June 13 at 10:00 AM with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Housatonic with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Bridget’s Cemetery in Housatonic. Family will receive friends on Wednesday June 12 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington MA 01230. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Peter’s memory may be made to Team Eric – Relay for Life or Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.   1. I think of my childhood and playing all 3 sports, coach troiano was involved in all of it. What a great man. I thank him for everything and all he gave to us housatonic kids. All my prayers to everyone. Sincerely Billy Snyder
