Obituary of Michael J. Beligni

Surrounded by his family, Michael “Mike” Beligni, 66 of Housatonic died Thursday December 23rd, 2021 as a result of heart failure complications at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Mike was born to Virginia and Alfred Beligni on July 22nd, 1955 in Pittsfield. He was a graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School class of 1974. Mike went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed overseas in Scotland as a Special Intelligence Communications Center Operator up until his honorable discharge with the rank of Corporal. For nearly 50 years Mike spent his career continuing his fathers legacy in the tire retail business. He owned and operated B&S Tire with his brother-in-law until he relocated to Pittsfield to open what is now RTE 20 Tire Center. Mike was a member of the Adams Budz Post #8183 Honor Guard, the Murphy Leary American Post #0298, and the Stockbridge Sportsman’s Club. He loved traveling with his family, hunting, learning and reading about history, playing in the Macano Card League, and watching Yankees games with his daughter. He and his wife, Debbie spent many years tag saling and going to auctions resulting in the opening of Frugal Finds on Elm St. in Pittsfield. Mike is survived by his wife Deborah (Simmons) Beligni whom he married on May 18th, 1990, his daughter, Lexi Beligni, his mother, Virginia Beligni, his sister, Patricia Shultis, two stepchildren, two step granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Michael John Beligni will be held on Friday December 31st at 10:00 AM with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Housatonic with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at 10:45 AM in Saint Bridget’s Cemetery in Housatonic. Family will receive friends for a private calling hour on Friday December 31st from 8:30 AM  to 9:30 AM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South St. Great Barrington MA 01230. Due to concerns of COVID 19 family requests that masks and social distancing protocols be followed for all of Michael’s services. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Michael’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be made through birchesroyfuneralservices.com.
