Marie Heath

Marie Anne Heath, 88, formerly of Monterey died Monday November 1, 2021 at Geer Nursing Home in Canaan CT. Marie was born on December 11, 1932 in Bronx N.Y. daughter to William F. and Anna (Royce) Ward. She was a graduate of the former Roe Jan High School class of 1951. Marie worked for many years as a school bus aide and as a home health aide. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Mill River and a member of their choir and also a member of the Hill and Dale Singers. She loved doing arts and crafts, playing musical instruments and animals. Marie’s husband Ernest F. Heath whom she married on May 3, 1952 at Saint Bridget’s in Copake predeceased her, July 18 1997. Marie is survived by three daughters, Dolores Leffingwell of Canaan CT, Susan Heath and partner Kurt Alexander of East Otis and Mary Theresa Stalker and husband Dustin of Sheffield, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her husband Ernest Heath, Marie was predeceased by daughter, Irene Marie Heath, four sisters, Marguerite Tighe, Catherine Weber, Anne Dawson and Irene Magnus and one brother, Francis Ward.

Graveside services for Marie Heath will be held on Friday November 12 at 11:30 AM at Corashire Cemetery in Monterey with Deacon Sean Mulholland officiating. Family will receive friends on Friday November 12 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington MA 01230.     This is Sarah Williams. I knew Marie and “Doc” from working at Green River Lumber. I always, always really liked your Mom. She was always cheery, always positive, and very sweet and especially thoughtful. I was saddened to learn of her passing. I am sure you will miss her a great deal. Please accept my condolences on the the loss of your Mother. She was a very special person.

  3. I am so sorry about Marie’s death..she was one of the first people I met when I moved to the Berkshires and I was very grateful to know her and her family. She was my aide on the bus route I drove for a couple years. She and her family would pet sit for me when needed. My sympathies to all of her family.
