Kathleen Mae Drumm Potash, 74 of Great Barrington, MA passed way August 3rd at Fairview Commons Nursing Home on Christian Hill Road in Great Barrington after a brief illness. Her parents were John Howard Drumm of Alford, MA and Ida Mae Dewkett Drumm of Great Barrington. She had two sisters, Ruth Emma Verones of Alford (Deceased), and her surviving sister, Eunice F. Anson and her husband “Cricket” of Great Barrington. She had two brothers both now deceased, Arnold Drumm of Kinderhook, NY and John Howard “Buddy” Drumm, Jr. of Great Barrington.

Kathleen was born at Fairview Hospital on March 23, 1944. She attended Bryant School in Great Barrington, then Mt. Everett Middle School in Sheffield, and was a 1962 graduate of Searles High School in Great Barrington.

She worked for many years at B&D in Canaan, CT and participated in many social events with her co-workers. Her favorite was the bowling leagues each fall and winter, and she was an excellent bowler. At a bowling event, she met her future husband, Francis B.T. Potash, a local chef, who she married on July 19, 1975. Frank passed away in March of 2012. They were married for 37 years and had no children.

She leaves many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, too many to name individually.

Kathleen was an avid reader most of her life, preferring detective mysteries and biographies of well known people from the Berkshires. She enjoyed crocheting and solving jigsaw puzzles.

Kathleen will be laid to rest in her family’s plot at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington with a grave side ceremony and close family members in attendance. BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be made through
