Janice “Jan” Kay, 65, of Housatonic died Wednesday November 10, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous fight with Multiple Sclerosis for over 26 years. She was born in Pittsfield on April 10, 1950 daughter of John and Isabelle (Jankowski) Sherowski. Jan was a graduate from Pittsfield High School and Berkshire Community College. She was employed at Schweitzer Paper Mill in Lee, K-Mart and as a dietary secretary at Fairview Hospital. Jan married her husband John Kay on October 16, 1971 in St. Mary’s Church in Pittsfield. Jan was very family oriented, they meant everything to her. Jan is survived by her husband John Kay of Housatonic, two sons, Christopher Kay of Westfield MA and John Kay and his wife Diane of Springfield MA, one daughter, Kim Bailly and her husband Philip of Housatonic, one brother, Gregory Sherowski and his wife Sue of Whippany NJ and six grandchildren, Alex Kay, Brady Kay, Cody Kay, Abby Bailly, Ethan Kay and Sammy Kay.
Funeral Services for Jan Kay who died Wednesday November 10 will be held on Saturday November 14 10:00 AM with a liturgy of Christian burial at Blessed Theresa of Calcutta Parish Corpus Christi Church with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Friday November 13 at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington MA 01230. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Jan’s memory may be made Multiple Sclerosis Society in care of the funeral home.
