Harriette Ann Sturges, 87 of Ashley Falls died Friday July 21, 2017 at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. Harriette was born in Great Barrington on June 19, 1930 daughter of John and Anna (Daniels) Stupak. She was a graduate of the former Searles High School class of 1948. Harriette first worked in kitchen at Jug End in 1944 then as a clerk at Montgomery Ward in Great Barrington in the 50’s then as a bookkeeper at Community Service in Canaan CT from 1963-1971 and Lloyd Lumber in Canaan from 1971-1973 then a bookkeeper for C.A. Lindell Inc. in Canaan from 1973 until her retirement in1993. Harriette was a club charter member of the Canaan Lioness Club. She also enjoyed lunches each month with Blue Bird Friends for over 35 years, gardening and flowers, reading, knitting, sewing, crocheting, crossword puzzles and making preserves for family and friends. Harriette is survived by her son, Lawrence Sturges and wife Judith of Ashley Falls and many nieces and nephews. Harriette was predeceased by three brothers, Paul “Red” Stupak, John “Bud” Stupak Jr. and Stephen “Skip” Stupak, one sister, Anna Mae “Cookie” Bynack and half-sister, Katherine Kusznir.
In keeping with Harriette’s wishes there are no services.
