Obituary of Gregory Andrew Polanski

Gregory Andrew Polanski, 58, of Canaan CT died Thursday February 13, 2020 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Gregory was born in Easton PA on May 21, 1961 son of Louis and the late Mary (Smith) Polanski. He went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Gregory worked as a maintenance and engineering manager for Specialty Minerals in Canaan CT from 1994 to 2017 then as a project manager for Zayachek Mechanical LTD from 2017 to 2019. Gregory enjoyed golf, gardening, his lawn and tractor, he took pride in his lawn. He was a member of the Canaan VFW 6851 Auxiliary Member and previously served as a member of the Canaan Conservation Commission. Gregory’s wife, Kathleen (Madsen) Polanski predeceased him on February 7, 2010. Gregory is survived by his father, Louis Polanski of Nazareth, PA, long time partner, Anita Sinico of Canaan, CT and her daughter, Celina Kegresse of Pittsfield, two brothers, Thomas Polanski of Nazareth, PA and Daniel Polanski of Nazareth, PA and one sister, Bridget Breyfogle of Northborough, MA. Gregory was predeceased by his brother, Christopher Polanski.

A Funeral Mass for Gregory Andrew Polanski will be held on Tuesday February 18 at 10:00 AM with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Saint Peter’s Church with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Peter’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday February 17 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington MA 01230. IN lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to The American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice in care of the funeral home.   3. Greg was an excellent engineer and kind responsible man. We worked together for years at Specialty Minerals. He was hard working and dedicated to a fault. My heartfelt condolences go out to Anita and Greg’s family.
