Obituary of George “Steve” Stephen Gorham

George Stephen Gorham “Steve”, died August 26, at the age of 73 in his home in Great Barrington. Born in Pittsfield, MA on December 27, 1947 to the late George H. and Alice Bagdon Gorham, he lived in Gt. Barrington for most of his life. He graduated from Searles High School and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Until his retirement, he worked as a mason and bartender at 20 Railroad Street. Steve enjoyed golf, good food, visiting with friends, watching old John Wayne movies and daily jaunts around town in his truck.

Steve is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Lawrence Duffany of Denver, CO, a nephew, Brian Duffany of Denver and a niece Sarah Pratt of Seattle WA. Steve also leaves behind his close friends Marina and Doug Wilbur and many others in the Great Barrington area.

  1. So many memories knowing Steve since grammar school through our 70+ years. Lots of fun visits to Florida and “keeper” of the Sugar Shack for many years. You will be greatly missed, rest in peace dear friend.
