Edgar Zukauskas, 60, of Southfield MA died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Edgar was born in Hartford CT, the son of George and Hannelore (Koepf) Zukauskas. He attended Hazardville and Glastonbury Schools and was a graduate of the Marlboro Academy in New Marlborough. Edgar worked for many years as a postal clerk in Great Barrington and Sheffield. Edgar served as Constable for the town of New Marlborough, was a member of the New Marlborough Finance Committee, the Umpachene Falls Park Commission, a former Moderator for the Town and a former member of the New Marlborough Volunteer Fire Department. He was also the Superintendent of the Mill River Water Takers Association.
Edgar was an avid photographer and worked for the Berkshire Courier before going into business with Alfred Lenardson and establishing Ice House Studios Photography. He enjoyed walks in the woods and at Umpachene Park and Thousand Acre Swamp, rides on back roads, classic rock music and doing projects with his wife. In addition to his parents, Edgar is survived by his wife Tara Ann (Barbieri) White whom he married on September 27, 2008 and his dog Savior.
A Memorial Service for Edgar Zukauskas will be held on Thursday April 27th at 10:00 AM at Saint Peter’s Church in Great Barrington with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Edgar’s memory may be made to either Hospice Care in the Berkshires or the New Marlborough Volunteer Fire Department in care of the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington MA 01230.
