Obituary of Charles W. Dunham Sr.

Charles W. Dunham Sr. 89 formerly of Great Barrington died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday November 6, 2022 at Noble Horizons in Salisbury CT. Charles was born in Great Barrington on March 21, 1933 son of Alfred and Ethel (Decker) Dunham. He attended local schools. Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea. Charles worked as a machine operator for Kimberly Clark for many years. He was an avid Red Sox Baseball fan and enjoyed working in and grooming his yard. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charles is survived by his wife, Judith A. (Heath) Dunham whom he married on November 9, 1957, one son, Charles W. Dunham Jr. and wife Evelyn of Framingham, three daughters, Holly Desmond and husband Harry of Monterey, Laurie Krom and husband Paul of Ashley Falls and Julie Storti of Great Barrington, ten grandchildren, Trevor Finkle, Todd Finkle, Kaitlyn Johnson, Jonathan Duerr, Charles W. Dunham III, Jaimee Dunham, Justin Dunham, Jordan Storti, Connor Storti and Paige Storti and three great grandchildren, Tristan Finkle, Olivia Duerr and Theodore Johnson. Charles was predeceased by two brothers, Ervin and Earl Dunham and one sister, Bette Fisher.

Funeral Services for Charles W. Dunham Sr. will be held on Friday November 11 at 10:00 AM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington MA 01230 with Reverend Angela Raciti of Berkshire Community Church in Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington. Family will receive friends on Thursday November 10 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at BIRCHES-ROY. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Charles’ memory may be made to the Berkshire Community Church in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be made through irchesroyfuneralservices.com.

  1. Charles – so much laughter, love, and joy – memories too numerous to recount. You were such a neat guy with a great sense of humor and it was an honor to care this man. Rest in the peace you have earned Charles. Know you will be remembered here and your light will always shine bright. May your memory be ever eternal.
