Obituary of Brian R Litchfield

Brian R. Litchfield, 50, of Sandisfield entered eternal life peacefully at home after a heroic battle with cancer. Born January 4, 1971 in Pittsfield to Patricia Dupont Litchfield Borelli and the late Leon E. Litchfield Sr. Brian grew up in Otis and attended Lee High School. Always a hard worker he started cutting firewood at age 13 for Ernie Beckwith at a lot near his childhood home in Otis. In his teens he worked as a dishwasher at the Olde Otis Inn and at 17 at Eisner Camp under his mentor and good friend Carl Runte’. Then doing carpentry for some years, delivering flowers for Dolby’s Florist and returning to work at Eisner Camp doing year round maintenance and grounds work and operating their 2 pools during the summer season. He enjoyed all of nature, skiing when younger, all seasons fishing, deer hunting, camping and the love of his many dogs past Malikai and Zip and his present trusted companion Rudy. Brian was predeceased by his father Leon and his loving stepfather, Peter T. Litchfield. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Claudette Daigle Litchfield, his mother, Patricia Borelli, brother Leon E. Litchfield Jr. and sister Brandi Page and her husband Hugh and many loved nieces and nephews and numerous aunts and uncles.

Per Brian’s wishes there will be no funeral services. Family and friends will have a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Brian’s memory may be made to either Hospice Care in the Berkshires or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South St. Great Barrington MA 01230.
