Obituary of Helen M. Koneazny

Helen M. Koneazny 85, a former resident of Great Barrington, died Monday July 2, 2012 at St. Joseph Manor, Brockton, MA. She was born in Great Barrington on December 28, 1926, daughter of Alexius J. and Helen ”Nellie” McCafferty Duffy. She was a 1944 graduate of the former Searles High School and a 1945 graduate of Pittsfield Secretarial School. Helen worked as a Secretary for the Great Barrington Schools Superintendent, from 1956-1966 and then for the Superintendent of Sheffield Schools from 1966 retiring in 1990. Helen was a former communicant of St. Peter’s Church. She leaves one son George Mager and his wife Birgit of Whitman, MA, three grandchildren Jessica “Jessie”, Vicky and Stephen, and two great grandchildren Nevaeh and Charlie.  Helen was predeceased by one brother Albert J. Duffy.

Funeral services for Helen M. Koneazny who died July 2, will be held on Friday July 6, at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, Great Barrington, with the Reverend William P Murphy, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends at a calling hour preceding the funeral Friday from 8:30-9:30 AM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Helen’s memory may be made to either St. Peter’s Renovation Fund or to the Southern Berkshire Elderly Transportation Authority ,both in care of the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington, MA. 01230.
